Mineral and Meteorite Shows in Ensisheim – Munich – Saint Marie – Berne

From 2009 onwards, I have been a regular visitor to the International Meteorite Show in Ensisheim, France, one of the most important annual events for meteorite enthusiasts worldwide. That first visit opened the door to an incredible community, and since then, I returned almost every year as part of the Spacejewels Switzerland team, sharing a booth with my friends Marc Jost and Peter Marmet.

The Ensisheim Meteorite Show is the event in Europe when it comes to meteorites and tektites. What makes it unique is its strict focus—only meteorites and tektites are allowed. No minerals, no fossils—just space rocks. Collectors, dealers, and researchers from all over the world gather in the historic Palais de la Régence to buy, trade, and admire some of the rarest extraterrestrial stones on Earth.

For three unforgettable days each June, the quiet town of Ensisheim in Alsace becomes the beating heart of the meteorite world. It feels like a family reunion: people you may only know from Facebook, auctions, or collector forums suddenly stand in front of you, sharing stories, knowledge, and passion for meteorites. Alongside the stones, there’s also the joy of French food, wine, and lively evenings—making the event as much about friendship as about collecting.

Many of the meteorites in my collection and pieces I offer for sale in my shop were acquired in Ensisheim from trustworthy international sellers. It is without doubt a must-attend meteorite show for any serious collector or dealer.

The Berne Mineral Fair – Switzerland

While living in Switzerland, I also participated in the Berne Mineral Fair for many years. There, at my own booth, I proudly presented a wide variety of treasures: meteorites, Libyan Desert Glass, minerals, pseudomorphs, and more.

The Berne fair offered a chance to connect with both local collectors and international visitors, and it remains one of my favorite venues to showcase rare natural history specimens and build lasting relationships within the collector’s community.

Must-Visit Shows for Collectors

If you are a meteorite or mineral enthusiast, I highly recommend attending these iconic European shows:

  • Ensisheim Meteorite Show (France, June) – the world’s most exclusive meteorite-only event.
  • St. Marie-aux-Mines Mineral Show (France, June, right after Ensisheim) – an incredible mineral and fossil show in the Alsace region.
  • Munich Mineral Show (Germany, November) – Europe’s largest international mineral, fossil, and meteorite exhibition.
  • Berne Mineral Fair (Switzerland, yearly) – a collector-friendly event with a strong mix of meteorites, minerals, and desert glass.

In Memory of Marc Jost and Peter Marmet

Without Marc Jost of Spacejewels Switzerland and Peter Marmet, I would never have ventured so deeply into the fascinating world of meteorites. I still remember meeting them for the first time in 2008 at the Mineral Fair in Bern. What began as an encounter between collectors and traders quickly grew
