Libyan Desert Glass
My passion for Libyan Desert Glass started when I was living in Cairo Egypt. In 2002 I visit the strewn field in the Grand Sand Sea on a 12 day desert trip to the Gilf Kebir region in the Western Desert of Egypt close to Sudan and Libya. Since then I'm fascinated by this unique natural glass which only occurs there. Most probably formed 28 million years ago by the explosion and or impact of a large Meteore.
Below pictures of some of the most spectacular glass from my collection. If you are looking for Desert Glass to purchase, please visit my shop.
